What are the signs of cervical cancer recurrence

Cervical cancer is one of the common gynecological malignant tumors. Currently, the main clinical treatments for this disease include radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery. However, cervical cancer is prone to recurrence after treatment, causing certain harm and impact on the patient's life and health. So, what are the signs of cervical cancer recurrence? Let's find out together.

The main signs of cervical cancer recurrence include:

1. Metastatic symptoms: Cancer can spread forward and invade the bladder, causing frequent urination, painful urination, and hematuria. In severe cases, bladder-vaginal fistula may form. Cancer can spread backward and invade the rectum, causing symptoms such as prolapse, difficulty in defecation, and blood in the stool. Further development may cause vaginal-rectal fistula.

2. Irregular vaginal bleeding: Local cervical or vaginal recurrence, often with irregular vaginal bleeding or foul-smelling leucorrhea; vaginal bleeding is a common symptom of cervical cancer recurrence, and about 81.4% of cervical cancer patients have vaginal bleeding symptoms.

3. Pain: The cancer extends along the adjacent tissues, invades the pelvic wall, and compresses the peripheral nerves. The clinical manifestations of the recurrence of cervical cancer are persistent pain in the sciatic nerve or one side of the sacral or iliac region; the tumor compresses or erodes the ureter, causing narrowing and obstruction of the ureter, leading to hydronephrosis, which manifests as one side of the waist pain or even severe pain, and further develops into renal failure and even uremia.

Time of cervical cancer recurrence: Most cases of cervical cancer recurrence after radiotherapy occur within 2 years. If cervical cancer recurs and is not treated, most patients will die within half a year to a year, and only a few can survive for more than 2 years. It is also difficult to treat after recurrence, so patients must do a good job of preventing recurrence and metastasis.

Generally speaking, cervical cancer is a serious condition and requires timely symptomatic treatment. Early treatment can achieve better results. For patients with recurrent cervical cancer, conservative treatment with traditional Chinese medicine can be used. Traditional Chinese medicine does not burden the patient's body and has no toxic side effects. It can improve the patient's own immunity, help patients improve their quality of life, and prolong their survival.
