Are fibroids harmful?

Fibroma is a benign tumor lesion in the dermis that develops from focal proliferation of fibroblasts or tissue cells. There are two different types of fibroma in clinical practice, and different types have different symptoms. So are the hazards of fibroma serious?

Fibroids are generally benign and grow very slowly. They usually do not cause discomfort and do not require treatment. Unless the growth area is relatively wide and the growth rate is relatively fast, and it has caused physical pain, belching and other discomforts, then surgical treatment should be considered. It is recommended to go to the hospital regularly to monitor the growth of the tumor.

Clinically, fibroma is a benign tumor in the dermis of human skin caused by focal proliferation of fibroblasts or tissue cells. The fibrous tissue in the skin is equivalent to the skeleton of the skin, maintaining the structure and elasticity of the skin. They are too active and overgrown. Generally, there are more female patients than male patients, and there is no age limit. According to the survey, it is more common in young and middle-aged people. So far, the cause of fibroma is still unclear. It can be caused by skin damage, such as blunt trauma or mosquito bites. Some people also believe that the disease may be related to viral infection. If related symptoms occur, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Generally, fibromas do not cause any harm to the human body, and there are no reported cases of fibromas becoming cancerous. If the lesions are not serious, treatment is generally not required. It should be noted that fibromas generally do not disappear on their own. When the patient experiences pain or the tumor is too large to affect the function of the limbs or organs and normal life, the patient can go to the hospital for surgical removal. Generally, it will not recur. If bitten by mosquitoes or insects again, it may recur, but it will not be a recurrence.

Fibroids mostly occur on the limbs. The general manifestation of skin damage is the appearance of round or oval papules or nodules with a diameter of about 1 cm, usually not more than 2 cm, and a few cases exceeding 2 cm. The fibroids are raised and hard, connected to the epidermis and can be pushed. If you push it with your hand, you can feel that the bottom of the pimple can move freely, but the top is adhered to the skin. Usually only one grows, and 10% of patients will grow more than two. The tumor grows relatively slowly and will stop growing in one or two years. The skin on the surface of the fibroid can be smooth or rough, and the skin color of the affected area varies. It can be normal skin color, and some patients may be light red, yellowish brown, or dark brown. The clinical characteristics of fibroids are generally light red or yellowish brown intradermal papules or nodules, which are usually asymptomatic, and sometimes patients may experience pain.
