What are the diagnostic methods for fibroids

Speaking of fibroids, many patients have a sad history. This disease recurs like a demon, torturing patients all the time and making them lose confidence in treatment. Today we will talk about the diagnostic methods of fibroids so that everyone can have a better understanding of this disease.

Fibroma is a slow-growing benign tumor derived from fibrous tissue. It is composed of well-differentiated subcutaneous connective tissue. It is more common in adults aged 40-50 years old and rarely becomes malignant. The main treatment is surgical resection.

Fibroids are often found under the skin, grow slowly, are generally small, have clear edges, smooth surfaces, are hard, and can be pushed. If mixed with other components, they become fibromyomas, fibroadenomas, fibrolipomas, etc. Fibroids, especially hard fibromas in the abdominal wall muscles, can become malignant and should be completely removed as soon as possible.

Common symptoms of fibroids are generally manifested as normal surface skin, smooth and movable tumors that can be touched under the skin, and no tenderness. Fibroids are small flesh-colored to dark brown needle-sized and larger sessile and pedunculated papilloma, which often occur in the neck and are often accompanied by small seborrheic keratosis. They are also common in the armpits and eyelids, followed by the trunk and groin. Some pedunculated soft fibroids are teardrop-shaped and feel like small sacs. Occasionally, they may become inflamed, tender, or even necrotic due to the distortion of the small pedicle. The number of patients often increases when they gain weight or during pregnancy. The incidence of this disease seems to be higher in patients with colon polyps. In the past, it was often reported as a disease of perianal soft warts or skin folds.

Diagnostic Methods

1. They can be seen on all parts of the body, in varying sizes, with a smooth surface, or in the shape of a head, and can be observed freely.

2. Some with pedicles can also be seen, which can grow to several kilograms, are mostly loose and hanging, soft to the touch, and have pigmentation.

3. According to its tissue composition and properties, there are two special types: soft and hard. Soft fibroma, also known as skin tag, is often seen on the face, neck, chest and back. It has a pedicle, varies in size, is soft and elastic. Hard fibroma is more common in women aged 20-40 years old, and is more common in the abdominal wall. It is a hard, painless, non-mobile tumor with unclear boundaries from surrounding tissues. It grows slowly, has no capsule and grows in an infiltrative manner. It is easy to recur after removal and can become malignant.

4. Pathological sections can determine the nature of the tumor.

Although fibroma looks scary, it is a benign tumor. Fibromatosis is a tumor derived from fibrous tissue. The tumor can occur in large muscles in any part of the body, and the most common is the rectus abdominis of the abdominal wall and the aponeurosis of the adjacent muscles. In order to control the development of fibroma skin tumors, patients must pay attention to daily care, which is more important for fibroma patients. Don't underestimate this disease, it brings serious consequences to people. Please take good care of your body in daily life and stay away from the troubles of diseases.
