How much do you know about the harm of fibroids

Fibroids, when most people hear the name, they think it should be a benign tumor, such as breast fibroids, which we often hear about. They think it is a problem of cell proliferation in our body, or an endocrine disorder problem, and it has no effect on normal people. But is this true? Are fibroids really harmless to us? Today we will learn how much you know about the harm of fibroids!

Fibroids are often found under the skin, grow slowly, are generally small, have clear edges, smooth surfaces, are hard, and can be pushed. If mixed with other components, they become fibromyomas, fibroadenomas, fibrolipomas, etc. Fibroids, especially desmoids in the abdominal wall muscles, can become malignant and should be completely removed as soon as possible.

General treatment and prevention:

There are several types of fibroids. a. Yellow fibroma: It is common in the dermis or subcutaneous layer of the trunk and proximal upper arm. It often originates from small papules after trauma or itching. The lumps are hard and have unclear edges. Because they are accompanied by internal bleeding, they contain hemosiderin and are dark brown. If the tumor is larger than 1 cm and grows rapidly, it should be suspected to be a fibrosarcoma. Surgical resection must be thorough. b. Protuberant dermatofibrosarcoma: It is located in the dermis, protrudes from the body surface, has smooth skin on the surface, and is shaped like a keloid. It is common in the trunk. It is low-grade malignant and has a pseudocapsule. It is easy to recur after resection. Multiple recurrences increase the malignancy and can metastasize through the blood. The tumor with enough normal skin and deep adjacent fascia should be removed as soon as possible. c. Band-like fibroma: It is caused by the reparative hyperplasia of the abdominal wall muscles after trauma or birth injury. It has no obvious capsule and is suitable for surgical resection.

Through the above introduction, you can check whether you know it all. But I suggest that no matter how harmful fibroids are, it is very necessary to go to a regular hospital for regular check-ups.
