Fetal movement is a relatively normal phenomenon. Many fetuses like to move when they are in their mother's womb. Pregnant women can also feel fetal movement. Of course, for some pregnant mothers, their babies like to move at night. This is because the baby swims and rolls in the amniotic fluid, competing with the mother for nutrients, fiddling with the mother's umbilical cord, feeling the external environment, or expanding its range of activities. 1. Swimming and rolling in amniotic fluid Except when the baby is asleep, the rest of the time he is an energetic little guy who will swim around in the amniotic fluid, roll around, yawn, suck his fingers, and stretch his limbs. 2. Compete with mother for nutrients After pregnancy, expectant mothers eat much more than before, because not only do they need to replenish energy and nutrients themselves, but they also need to ensure that the baby in their belly gets adequate nutrition. But expectant mothers can never compete with the baby, and most of the nutrients are still taken away by the baby. Therefore, as the pregnancy weeks increase, expectant mothers will experience back pain and leg cramps. This is a sign of calcium deficiency in the expectant mother. 3. Playing with the mother's umbilical cord As we all know, the umbilical cord is the channel that connects the mother and the fetus. The fetus obtains the nutrients it needs through the umbilical cord and also communicates with the mother through the umbilical cord. Babies usually play around with the umbilical cord when they have nothing to do, treating it as a playmate who accompanies them all day long. However, doing so increases the risk of the umbilical cord getting wrapped around the baby's neck, which may endanger the baby's life in severe cases. 4. Feel the external environment The baby is not unable to see or feel anything in the mother's belly. From the 16th week of pregnancy, the baby's eyes begin to develop and become very sensitive to external light. Therefore, expectant mothers should go outside as much as possible whenever they have time, so that their babies can experience the outside world more. 5. Expand the scope of activities As the pregnancy progresses, especially in the later stages of pregnancy, the mother's belly continues to grow, and the baby's range of movement also increases accordingly. The increase in the baby's range of movement will compress the baby's internal organs, causing the mother to often feel chest tightness and difficulty breathing. She cannot lie flat on her back at night and can only sleep on her side. |
