What are the predisposing factors for bile duct cancer

What are the predisposing factors of bile duct cancer? Biliary duct cancer is a highly malignant tumor. The disease develops rapidly and has a low cure rate. In recent years, the incidence rate has been increasing. Therefore, we must learn more about the causes of the disease and do a good job of daily prevention. So, what are the predisposing factors of bile duct cancer?

1. Hepatobiliary stones: Cholangiocarcinoma is closely related to hepatobiliary stones. In areas where hepatobiliary stones are common, the pathological change rate of cholangiocarcinoma is also increased. The reason may be that the chronic stimulation of gallstones and inflammation causes the bile duct epithelium to rot, ulcerate and fall off, and the epithelial cancer cells proliferate, resulting in cholangiocarcinoma tumor cell cancer. In addition, the obstruction caused by gallstones and the poor bile discharge, and the increase of bile acid in the bile also play a triggering role.

2. Congenital bile duct enlargement: This disease can easily cause reflux of pancreatic juice, stagnation of bile, and the formation of stones, which are all causes of bile duct cancer.

3. Hepatitis virus infection: When the human body is infected with the hepatitis virus, the normal regulatory mechanism of cancer cells is disrupted, oncogenes are abnormally expressed, and precancerous lesions occur.

4. Biliary adenoma: Biliary adenoma is common in the intrahepatic bile duct, among which villous adenoma is the most common, and about 63% of villous adenomas can become malignant.

Cholangiocarcinoma is divided into intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma refers to a malignant tumor originating from the bile duct epithelial cells below the secondary branches of the intrahepatic bile duct, accounting for about 10% of cholangiocarcinoma. It is highly malignant, has hidden symptoms, and has a poor prognosis. Because the disease is located in the liver and is similar to hepatocellular carcinoma in some clinical aspects, many domestic textbooks and reference books discuss it as a type of primary liver cancer.

Surgical resection is the best option for treating bile duct cancer, but the prerequisite for successful surgery is also early detection. Since the early symptoms of clinical bile duct cancer are not very obvious, scholars studying bile duct cancer in recent years have paid more attention to how to diagnose it early.
