Thyroid cancer is one of the more common malignant tumors in daily life, accounting for about one percent of all malignant tumors in the body. Except for medullary carcinoma, most thyroid cancers originate from follicular epithelial cells. Thyroid cancer is also one of the cancers with the highest cure rate today. Here we will introduce you to the relevant situation of thyroid cancer. Thyroid cancer is mainly diagnosed based on clinical manifestations. If the thyroid lump is hard and fixed, the cervical lymph nodes are enlarged, or there are compression symptoms, or if the thyroid lump has existed for many years and increases rapidly in a short period of time, thyroid cancer should be suspected. 1. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment of thyroid cancer includes surgery on the thyroid gland itself and neck lymph node dissection. There are still differences in the scope of thyroidectomy, with the smallest scope being lobe and isthmus resection and the largest being total thyroidectomy. 2. Endocrine therapy: Patients who undergo subtotal or total thyroidectomy should take thyroxine tablets for life to prevent hypothyroidism and inhibit TSH. Both papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular adenocarcinoma have TSH receptors, and TSH can affect the growth of thyroid cancer through its receptors. 3. Radionuclide therapy: For papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular adenocarcinoma, 131 iodine radiotherapy is used after surgery. It is suitable for patients over 45 years old, multiple cancer foci, locally invasive tumors and those with distant metastasis. 4. External beam radiation therapy: mainly used for undifferentiated thyroid cancer. Most patients with thyroid cancer have a high degree of differentiation and early tumor stage. The overall prognosis is good, the mortality rate is low, and the average survival time is long. It is more common in women, and the prognosis in men is worse than that in women. Preoperative examinations such as serum CEA, the presence or absence of extraglandular invasion (including distant metastasis, vascular invasion, and thyroid capsule invasion), and pathological immune Ki67 and ratio have a certain role in predicting and evaluating the prognosis of patients with thyroid cancer. Due to the good prognosis and effective treatment, thyroid cancer has become one of the cancers with the highest cure rate. Therefore, if a friend suffers from this disease, it is important to diagnose and treat it early and strive for a speedy recovery. |
