It usually takes several years for breast cancer to develop

There is no fixed time limit for the development of breast cancer. From the initial cell proliferation to the formation of invasive cancer, breast cancer will go through several stages, including cell proliferation stage, accumulation of abnormal cells, carcinoma in situ stage, and invasive cancer stage. There may be no obvious symptoms and signs in the early stage of breast cancer. It is recommended to seek medical treatment in time and take appropriate treatment measures according to different situations according to the doctor's advice.

1. Cell proliferation stage: The formation of breast cancer begins with abnormal proliferation of breast cells, a process that may last for several years or even more than a decade. Under the combined effects of gene mutations and environmental factors, cells gradually lose normal regulation and begin to proliferate uncontrollably.

2. Accumulation of abnormal cells: Over time, the number of abnormally proliferating cells gradually increases, forming tiny lesions. These lesions may not have obvious symptoms in the early stages and are difficult to detect through routine examinations.

3. Carcinoma in situ stage: When abnormal cells proliferate further and break through the boundaries of normal tissue, carcinoma in situ is formed. Breast cancer at this stage is usually still confined to the mammary ducts or lobules, has not metastasized, and may be discovered through imaging examinations.

4. Invasive cancer stage: If not discovered and treated in time, the cancer cells in situ may continue to grow, break through the basement membrane, and form invasive cancer. At this time, the cancer cells may spread to the surrounding breast tissue or even lymph nodes or other organs, aggravating the condition and making treatment more difficult.

5. Symptoms and signs: Breast cancer may have no obvious symptoms in the early stages. As the disease progresses, patients may experience breast lumps, nipple discharge, skin dimpling or deformation, etc. Once these symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention immediately for examination and diagnosis.

Early detection and treatment of breast cancer are crucial to improving the cure rate. It is recommended to perform regular breast examinations, pay attention to changes in the body, and detect signs of lesions early.
