Is there a good way to cure thyroid cancer?

Nowadays, many people suffering from thyroid cancer do not trust the treatment. They think that even if they have surgery, they can only maintain their lives but cannot cure them. After all, in people’s traditional concept, there is no cure for cancer. So today we will take a look at whether there is a good cure for thyroid cancer?

To cure thyroid cancer, drug treatment is not very effective and the cure rate is not high. So far, there is no drug in the world that can effectively treat thyroid cancer, so the most effective method is still surgical treatment of thyroid cancer.

In addition to surgical treatment of thyroid cancer, the other three methods of treating thyroid cancer also have good results, but it depends on the condition. Let's take a look at which treatment methods can cure thyroid cancer:

1. Surgical treatment of thyroid cancer includes surgery on the thyroid gland itself and neck lymph node dissection. There are still differences in the scope of thyroidectomy, with the smallest scope being lobe and isthmus resection and the largest being total thyroidectomy.

2. Endocrine therapy for thyroid cancer patients who undergo subtotal or total thyroidectomy should take thyroxine tablets for life to prevent hypothyroidism and inhibit TSH. Both papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular adenocarcinoma have TSH receptors, and TSH can affect the growth of thyroid cancer through its receptors.

3. Radionuclide therapy: For papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular adenocarcinoma, 131 iodine radiotherapy is used after surgery. It is suitable for patients over 45 years old, with multiple cancer foci, locally invasive tumors, and those with distant metastases.

4. External beam radiation therapy is mainly used for anaplastic thyroid cancer.

The above four methods are very effective methods for treating thyroid cancer at home and abroad, and the cure rates are also very high. Each treatment is targeted at a specific type of thyroid cancer, so thyroid cancer patients should not be too pessimistic. In today's developed medical society, thyroid cancer can still be cured.
