How much do you know about the causes of glioma

Perhaps many people know that glioma is a common and difficult to cure malignant disease in clinical practice, but how many people actually know the real cause of glioma? How much do you know about the causes of glioma? Let me give you an introduction below.

1. Genetic factors: There are different reports on the familial incidence of glioma. In the past 20 years, the chromosomes of glioma have been studied and it has been found that most of them have abnormalities in the C group chromosomes, but the causal relationship with glioma is still unclear.

2. Biochemical environment: The levels of pigment oxidase, phosphokinase and ATP in glioma cells are lower than those in normal cells, but β-glucuronidase is higher than that in normal brain tissue (except ependymoma). LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) is different from that in normal brain tissue due to the high metabolism of tumor tissue.

3. Origin of tumor: There is a theory that the cause of tumor is the embryonic remnant of primitive cells that grows into tumors. These remnant cells can cause chronic proliferation due to inflammatory stimulation and form tumors. Multiple gliomas, or gliomatosis, may have more than one tumor center.

4. Bad living habits: such as being partial to certain types of food, drinking, smoking, etc. Although there is not enough evidence to prove that these factors are related to the occurrence of glioma, they have been confirmed to be related to the occurrence of gastrointestinal tumors and lung tumors.

5. Ionizing radiation: Long-term exposure to radiation, such as X-rays, γ-rays, nuclear radiation, etc., will increase the chance of developing glioma. Electromagnetic waves: Some recent studies have confirmed that electromagnetic waves are harmful to the human body. Long-term exposure to electromagnetic waves will increase the incidence of brain tumors.

6. Polluted air: It has been confirmed that not only do workers who work in an air-polluted environment for a long time have a significantly increased chance of developing brain tumors, but their children also have a higher tumor incidence rate than other children. These occupations are mainly related to papermaking, milling, handicrafts, printing, chemicals, oil refining and metal smelting, mainly because there are a lot of hydrocarbon compounds in the air.

Warm reminder: There are many reasons that cause glioma in daily life, and the above points are only part of them. Therefore, it is recommended that patients learn more about this common sense. In addition, experts remind that due to the high malignancy of glioma and the rapid progression of the disease, it is extremely harmful to patients. So once someone finds that he has this disease, please go to a regular cancer hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying the best time for treatment.
