The most reasonable treatment plan for thyroid cancer

What is the most reasonable treatment for thyroid cancer? I believe everyone is very afraid of cancer, because such a disease often threatens the life of our patients. In fact, thyroid cancer can prolong life as long as it is treated reasonably. Some patients have no difference in life expectancy with ordinary people. So what is the most reasonable treatment for thyroid cancer?

For the treatment of thyroid cancer, in order to be able to more effectively select the appropriate treatment plan, patients can be divided into several risk groups based on their age, gender, tumor size, range of disease, and whether it has metastasized to distant sites.

Male patients aged over 45 years are considered high-risk patients, with high differentiation, large tumors, thyroid invasion, and distant metastasis. Female patients aged under 45 years are considered low-risk patients, with good differentiation, small tumors, and no distant metastasis.

In response to these different situations, we have different treatment methods for thyroid cancer. If it is the former, we will use a complete resection. If it is the latter, we only need to remove the ipsilateral thyroid lobe. Therefore, risk grouping of patients is helpful to guide the choice of treatment options.

The ultimate goal of thyroid cancer treatment is to cure the tumor. In addition, it is to restore the patient's life, study or work as much as possible. The most commonly used treatment in Western medicine is surgical treatment, which mainly removes the tumor and then prevents local lesions on this basis. In thyroid surgery, complications often occur, such as recurrent laryngeal nerve injury and hypoparathyroidism. Therefore, during the operation, the probability of complications must be minimized. At the same time, when performing neck dissection for cervical lymph node metastasis, the sternocleidomastoid muscle, internal jugular vein and accessory nerve must be preserved intact. If during the operation, there is metastasis to a distant place or the neck tumor cannot be completely removed, a total thyroidectomy should be performed to complete the radionuclide treatment. The above is the surgical treatment of the thyroid.

However, in fact, the tumor is only a manifestation of cancer. It is not only present in the neck, but also in all parts of the body. Therefore, surgical treatment is only a temporary solution and can only be used for some symptoms. Nowadays, traditional Chinese medicine is mostly used to treat thyroid cancer.

After having a general idea of the treatment methods for thyroid cancer, I believe everyone has rekindled hope for treatment. As long as everyone has a clear idea of the symptoms of the disease and can seek medical treatment in time after detection, the degree of recovery will be increased.
