Patients with gallbladder cancer cannot detect the disease in the early stages of the disease because the symptoms are very hidden and not easily discovered. In addition, the symptoms of gallbladder cancer are very similar to those of chronic cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, so it is easy to misdiagnose during examination.

Most patients with gallbladder cancer will experience pain in the right upper abdomen in the early stages of the disease, which gradually radiates to the right shoulder blade. They often experience systemic cachexia such as loss of appetite, general weakness, abdominal distension, jaundice, and low fever. When these symptoms appear, they can be preliminarily determined to be symptoms of gallbladder cancer, and further routine examinations are required. Therefore, gallbladder cancer can be diagnosed based on these symptoms.

During the examination of gallbladder cancer patients, liver function tests can not only understand the current status of liver function, but also clearly distinguish the nature of jaundice, so as to determine whether obstructive jaundice exists. This method can be used for the diagnosis of gallbladder cancer.

Patients with gallbladder cancer can undergo cholecystography to not only observe whether the gallbladder mucosa is uneven, but also to check whether there is a filling defect in the gallbladder cavity. ERCP can detect sudden interruptions in the bile duct, followed by eccentric filling defects, irregular edges, and bile ducts with a longer range of stenosis.
