Is bile duct cancer contagious?

Is bile duct cancer contagious?

Disease is something that people are afraid of coming into contact with. If it is contagious, we will only become more panicked and even have a clear alienation from the patient. The patient himself is more sensitive. If he is deliberately isolated, it will be more likely to increase his psychological burden. Therefore, it is very important to understand whether it is contagious. So, is bile duct cancer contagious?

Cholangiocarcinoma is a common malignant tumor in clinical practice. Many people question whether it is contagious. So far, it can be said with certainty that cholangiocarcinoma is not contagious.

To put it simply, the so-called infection means that a disease is transmitted from one person to another through some means. Infection must have three conditions: source of infection, route of transmission and susceptible population. All three are indispensable. Clinical data have shown that cancer patients themselves are not the source of infection. Experts have conducted such experiments. The cancerous tissue removed from a cancer patient was directly implanted in another person and could not survive and grow. Although it is currently believed that the occurrence of certain cancers is related to certain viruses, such as cervical cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, and leukemia, it has not been confirmed that infection with certain viruses will definitely lead to a certain cancer. Therefore, bile duct cancer should not be contagious.

Moreover, bile duct cancer is not currently listed as an infectious disease in the world, and no isolation measures are taken for admitted patients like for infectious diseases. The incidence of bile duct cancer among medical staff in cancer hospitals is no higher than that of the general population. Animal experiments have also shown that when animals with bile duct cancer and healthy animals are kept together for a long time, no infectious phenomena are found after repeated observation and examination.

Is bile duct cancer contagious? The above tells you in detail that bile duct cancer is not contagious. Don’t think that it is contagious and deliberately distance yourself from them. Relatives should give more care and love to family members or friends, and let them know that you are always with them and fighting side by side.
