Beware of the dangers of menopausal osteosarcoma

Every woman loves beauty, whether she is young or in menopause. However, because the various indicators of bone in menopausal women are declining, osteosarcoma will easily invade the body. Everyone knows that the harm of osteosarcoma to the body cannot be evaluated, so it is necessary to be vigilant about the harm of osteosarcoma in menopausal women. Let's take a look at the harm of osteosarcoma.

Osteosarcoma refers to a malignant connective tissue tumor in which tumor cells can directly produce tumor bone and bone-like tissue. Its incidence rate accounts for about 1/3 of all malignant bone tumors, and has been on the rise in recent years. Special vigilance is required in daily life during menopause. Osteosarcoma can not only cause bone pain, pathological fractures, paralysis, etc., but also endanger the patient's life in severe cases. Therefore, prevention of osteosarcoma must be done in daily life, especially for people at the high-risk age of osteosarcoma.

In addition to the most serious case of osteosarcoma, which can threaten the patient's life, the following physical injuries cannot be ignored. We hope that they can attract the attention of patients and receive early treatment.

1. Physical pain

Pain of varying degrees at the tumor site is a common symptom of osteosarcoma, caused by the expansion of tumor tissue destroying the bone cortex and stimulating the periosteal nerve endings. The pain can develop from intermittent in the early stage to persistent after a few weeks, and the degree of pain can increase. Initially, it is intermittent pain, which gradually worsens and turns into persistent pain after a period of time. It is more obvious at night and is ineffective when taking painkillers.

2. The harm of lameness affecting normal walking ability

The pain-avoiding claudication caused by limb pain worsens as the disease progresses. Patients with a long illness period may experience limited joint movement and muscle atrophy. Some patients may develop joint effusions or even pathological fractures.

3. The harm of growing a malignant tumor

As the disease progresses, local swelling may occur, and a lump may be touched at the painful part of the limb, accompanied by obvious tenderness. If the lump grows rapidly, the lump can be found from the appearance. The skin temperature on the surface of the lump increases and the superficial veins are exposed. The surface of the lump and the nearby soft tissue may have varying degrees of tenderness. The hardness of the lump varies due to the different degrees of ossification. Swelling and lumps will appear after a few days or weeks, and varicose veins will appear in the late stage, and the local skin temperature will increase and become congested and red. When the diagnosis is clear, the general condition is generally poor, manifested as fever, discomfort, weight loss, anemia and even exhaustion. In some cases, the tumor grows very fast, and lung metastasis occurs in the early stage, causing the general condition to deteriorate. Pathological fractures at the tumor site make the symptoms more obvious. This threatens people's life safety.

Because menopausal patients can easily confuse bone pain with growing pains and common sprains, most osteosarcoma patients have already developed to the middle and late stages when they are diagnosed. Osteosarcoma progresses very quickly, and lung metastasis can occur within six months to a year, endangering the patient's life. Therefore, while doing a good job of preventing osteosarcoma, we also need to be particularly vigilant about the symptoms of osteosarcoma, so as to achieve early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment to improve the cure rate of patients.
