As part of the female reproductive system, the ovaries are not only related to female reproduction, but also have a great relationship with female physical health. So once an ovarian tumor appears, how should we effectively judge whether the tumor is benign or malignant? Here we will introduce some of these issues. Common cancers in women include cervical cancer, breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Like the other two diseases, ovarian cancer can be benign or malignant. The clinical manifestations of benign ovarian tumors and malignant ovarian tumors are different, and both doctors and patients should pay attention to the differentiation. So what are the symptoms of ovarian tumors? 1. Benign tumors Smaller masses generally do not cause symptoms, but may occasionally cause a feeling of heaviness or pulling pain in the affected lower abdomen. The abdominal mass can be clearly palpated, with a smooth surface, no tenderness, and a cystic feel. Most benign tumors form a long stalk pedicle with the fallopian tube. Because the tumor is not adhered to the surrounding tissues, it is more mobile and can often move the mass from one side of the lower abdomen to the upper abdomen. 2. Malignant tumors The masses grow rapidly, are mostly irregular and non-mobile, and may be accompanied by ascites. Systemic symptoms such as weakness, fever, and loss of appetite may appear in a short period of time. 3. Functional ovarian tumors Granulosa cell tumors, for example, can cause symptoms of precocious puberty because they produce large amounts of estrogen. Female characteristics such as physique, breasts, and external genitalia develop rapidly, and menstruation occurs, but ovulation does not occur. Bone development can exceed the normal range. Estrogen in urine increases, and gonadotropin in urine also increases, exceeding the normal rule and reaching adult levels. 4. Others Ovarian masses of medium size with long pedicles (including retention ovarian cysts) may be torsioned. Once torsion occurs, bleeding and necrosis may occur, which manifests clinically as acute abdomen with abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. During examination, abdominal muscles at the tumor site are tense and tender, and there may be elevated body temperature and increased white blood cell count. When the tumor is large, it compresses adjacent organs and may cause difficulty in urination and defecation. If women find a lump in their lower abdomen, they must not ignore it and should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. If it is accompanied by abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea, irregular bleeding and other problems, it is very likely that they have an ovarian tumor. If it is benign, the treatment effect is relatively good. If it is malignant, the treatment effect is not very optimistic. From the above introduction, we can know that the nature of tumors is different. Some are benign and some are malignant. This requires female friends to discover abnormal conditions in their bodies in time, so as to seek medical treatment in time and distinguish the nature of the tumor as soon as possible. I hope this can bring some help to the majority of female friends. |
