Ovarian tumors are divided into several categories

How many categories are there of ovarian tumors? Many people don’t know. Ovarian tumors are a relatively common type of gynecological tumors. Tumors can be benign or malignant. Ovarian tumors can generally be divided into six types based on their tissues. Here, I will introduce to you the common classifications of ovarian tumors.

1. Sex cord stromal tumors. This type of tumor accounts for about 6% of ovarian tumors. Sex cord stromal tumors are relatively complex. Various cells can form corresponding tumors independently. Two types of cells, ovarian or testicular, can appear in the same tumor. There are even cases where four types of cells appear in the same tumor.

2. Gonadoblastoma.

3. Steroid cell tumor. This type of tumor is composed of large round or polygonal cells similar to luteal cells, interstitial cells, and adrenal cortical cells. It was previously called lipid cell tumor or lipoid cell tumor.

4. Ovarian tumors of non-specific stromal origin.

5. Germ cell tumors. This type of tumor is formed by germ cells and their derived tissues, including dysgerminoma, choriocarcinoma, etc.

6. The most common ovarian tumors in clinical practice are epithelial tumors and germ cell tumors, among which the most common are viscous and serous tumors in epithelial cell tumors and choriocarcinoma in germ cell tumors.

Medical experts point out that ovarian tumors are more common in young women and occasionally in young girls. They are extremely malignant and develop rapidly, often manifested as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, persistent fever, general fatigue, etc. Young girls may show symptoms such as breast development and vaginal bleeding.

The above is some knowledge about the classification of common ovarian tumors. I hope it can be helpful to everyone. When the tumor occurs in the early stage, it will generally send signals to the patient's body to remind everyone. Therefore, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a physical examination once a year to detect some minor physical problems in time, so as to treat them as soon as possible and avoid delaying the best time for treatment. In addition, if you have been confirmed to be a tumor patient, it is best to go to a regular tumor hospital for treatment, and do not blindly use medication, which will cause the condition to worsen.
