Lung cold is generally called lung cold

Lung cold is a disease in life, which is recorded in "Suwen·Kelun". This syndrome is mostly caused by external wind and cold evils invading the lung defense, causing the lung defense to fail to function. The lungs are responsible for breathing, and coldness in the lungs will cause symptoms of cold cough.

Symptoms of cold lungs

The sputum coughed up is white, clear and thin. The patient has cold body and limbs, severe aversion to cold but mild fever, cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, pale face, and may also have a dark back of the face, cough, retching, shortness of breath and inability to lie down. The tongue is pale or dark purple, the tongue coating is white and slippery, and the pulse is deep, stringy or tight.

Causes and symptoms of lung cold

1. The lungs are responsible for breathing and are connected to the skin. Wind and cold are most likely to attack the lungs. The lung qi is restrained and fails to descend, so it goes up and causes coughing and wheezing.

2. Lung fluid is not distributed, and gathers into phlegm and fluid, which goes up with the lung qi, so the phlegm is white and thin;

3. The nose is the orifice of the lungs. If the lung qi fails to flow and the nasopharynx is blocked, there will be nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy throat.

4. Wind-cold attacks the surface, Wei Yang is suppressed and cannot warm the skin surface, so there is a slight aversion to wind-cold;

5. Wei Yang resists evil, and Yang Qi floats and stagnates on the surface, so fever occurs;

6. Wind-cold invades the surface, stagnates the meridians, and the meridian qi is unfavorable, so there is pain in the head and body;

7. Coldness is contracting and the pores are blocked, so there is no sweat;

8. A thin white tongue coating and a floating and tight pulse are signs of wind-cold.

How to prevent lung cold

1. Keep the house warm to avoid wind-driven colds and severe wind-driven chills, which can aggravate your condition. If you have severe chills, you must keep warm by adding more clothes and quilts and using a hot water bottle to keep warm. If there is no sweat, you can cover the patient with more clothes and quilts to induce sweating and help the evil to be discharged. Sweat should be wiped off in time. You can wipe it dry with a dry towel and change the sweaty clothes.

2. The air in the house can be disinfected by fumigating with Atractylodes lancea, Artemisia argyi or vinegar.

3. The medicine should be decocted lightly and taken hot, and should not be decocted for a long time. Avoid using physical cooling methods to avoid blocking pathogens from escaping from the skin. Patients are encouraged to drink more ginger sugar water, ginger and pepper drink, etc. to help relieve the symptoms of pungent and warm nature.
