Which diseases should ovarian tumors be differentiated from?

Ovarian tumors in life are indeed very serious and need to be well identified. So what diseases should be differentiated from them? The following knowledge can be used to introduce relevant content. Only a good identification can better diagnose diseases such as ovarian tumors, so the following content needs a comprehensive understanding.

1. Overview

In the differential diagnosis of ovarian tumors, they are mainly divided into three categories based on the manifestations of the tumors. The first is the differentiation between cystic and cystic-solid tumors, the second is the differentiation between solid tumors, and the third is the differentiation of whole abdominal lesions. The differentiation between cystic and cystic-solid tumors of the ovary is the most common type of differentiation in clinical practice. Ovarian tumors, especially ovarian cancer, which has the highest incidence, often present as whole abdominal lesions when they are treated. They are all stage III or IV tumors, and have metastasized to the abdominal cavity, causing ascites, abdominal masses, paracolic grooves or pelvic floor, and perihepatic surface implantation metastasis. It is necessary to differentiate from other tumors, especially abdominal implantation metastasis of gastric cancer and colon cancer, and ascites caused by some abdominal tuberculosis.

2. Identification of cystic tumors in the adnexal area

Tumors of the adnexal region manifest as cystic-solid or cystic benign tumors such as cystadenomas, dermoid cysts, cystadenocarcinomas, rare tumors after cystic changes of granular cell tumors, and adenofibromas should also be differentiated. In addition, there are some cysts from germ cells in clinical practice, physiological cysts, and simple cysts. Physiological cysts are generally no larger than three centimeters under normal circumstances. Occasionally, specific cases are seen, showing a size of 6 to 8 centimeters, which should also be differentiated from tumors. Chocolate cysts, also called endometriosis, also appear cystic and should also be differentiated from tumors. After an infection occurs in the pelvic cavity, an adnexal abscess is formed with fluid accumulation, which can also appear cystic or cystic-solid. At this time, the diagnosis of tumor should be excluded.

Through the above introduction of relevant knowledge, we have talked a lot about the differential diagnosis of ovarian tumors. In fact, many people know that the disease of ovarian tumors requires a comprehensive understanding to clarify the relevant knowledge of ovarian tumors, so a comprehensive diagnosis is the most important.
