What are the references for teratoma medication

Teratoma is a common type of ovarian tumor, originating from germ cells, and is divided into mature teratoma (i.e. benign teratoma) and immature teratoma (malignant teratoma). Benign teratoma contains many components, including skin, hair, teeth, bones, oil, nerve tissue, etc.; malignant teratoma is poorly differentiated, with little or no formed tissue and unclear structure. Early teratoma has no obvious clinical symptoms and is mostly discovered accidentally during physical examination.

What are the references for teratoma medication? According to experts, the best treatment for this disease is surgical resection. During the operation, the contents of the cyst should be removed as much as possible, and the cyst wall should be removed as much as possible. The part of the cyst wall that is tightly adhered to the spinal cord or nerve root should not be removed reluctantly. For intraspinal malignant teratoma, surgical resection is followed by a comprehensive treatment plan of adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

The treatment principle of malignant teratoma is combined adjuvant therapy. Conventional chemotherapy is used for 1.5 to 2 years after surgical resection. Cisplatin, vinblastine or vincristine, and bleomycin are commonly used. In recent years, combined chemotherapy with cisplatin, doxorubicin, ifosfamide and other chemotherapy drugs is recommended. Radiotherapy is only used for cases of malignant teratoma with clear microscopic or macroscopic residues. The radiotherapy dose is preferably 25Gy for microscopic residues, and 35Gy for macroscopic residues. For those with complete surgical resection, chemotherapy is advocated in recent years, and radiotherapy is used with caution to avoid delayed damage to reproductive organs and bone development during radiotherapy.

After teratoma surgery, Chinese medicine can be used for consolidation treatment to improve the patient's immunity, strengthen the physical fitness, promote the repair of wounds and surrounding tissues, and reduce complications and infections; improve the patient's internal environment, remove residual tumor cells, eliminate factors that are suitable for the survival of tumor cells, strengthen the body's resistance, eliminate evil, consolidate the foundation, and effectively prevent tumor recurrence.
