Many teratoma patients are very nervous after being diagnosed with the disease because they are afraid of surgery and want to know whether they can take medicine for treatment. Experts say that once teratoma is diagnosed, whether it is taking Chinese medicine or taking Western medicine, there is almost no effect. Generally, surgical treatment is required, and early surgical removal is required. So, what are the conventional drugs for teratoma? The treatment principle of malignant teratoma is combined adjuvant therapy, with conventional chemotherapy for 1.5 to 2 years after surgical resection, usually cisplatin, vinblastine or vincristine, and bleomycin. In recent years, combined chemotherapy with cisplatin, doxorubicin, ifosfamide and other chemotherapy drugs is recommended. Surgical treatment of mature ovarian teratoma: 1. Laparotomy Tumor resection should be performed to preserve the normal tissue of the affected ovary. 1. Methods: Make a shallow incision below the thinnest part of the ovarian capsule, and continue to remove the tumor when you have entered the correct layer under the capsule. After the tumor is removed, the remaining normal ovarian tissue is sutured. Ovarian tumor detected in early pregnancy: Wait until about 4 months of pregnancy before performing surgery. The tumor is discovered in late pregnancy and has been pushed out of the pelvic cavity and does not block the birth canal: the tumor is surgically removed after delivery. If a tumor is found in late pregnancy and blocks the birth canal, a cesarean section is performed at full term or after labor, and the tumor is removed at the same time. 2. Notes Avoid rupturing the tumor and contaminating the abdominal cavity with its contents. For patients with unilateral mature teratoma, the contralateral ovary should be dissected and explored during surgery. During the dissection, care should be taken not to go too deep into the ovarian hilum to avoid excessive ligation due to excessive bleeding, which would affect the blood supply to the ovary. 2. Laparoscopic Surgery Use electric knife to incise, separate and stop bleeding. 1. Advantages: Postoperative pain and blood loss are reduced. Hospital stays are shortened and hospital costs are reduced. 2. Disadvantages: The thermal effect of the electric knife can have short-term or long-term effects on the structure and function of the ovaries. This may prolong the surgery time and increase operating room costs. There is a risk of delaying treatment of patients with ovarian malignancies. Teratoma contents spilling into the peritoneal cavity can cause postoperative chemical peritonitis 3. Note: If the contents of the cyst overflow during surgery, flush with plenty of saline until the flushing fluid becomes clear. |
