Do you know the secret about the uterus

The uterus is the female reproductive organ, but nowadays many women are troubled by uterine diseases. So what are the uncomfortable phenomena of the uterus in life? When these phenomena occur, you should go to the hospital for examination in time. Let me introduce them to you.

The uterus is a pear-shaped organ in a woman's body. It is our first warm and comfortable home. When we grow up, it helps us interpret the specialness of women, causes menstruation, and nurtures the fetus. It should be treated with special care.

Menstruation comes from the uterine lining

The surface layer of the uterine wall is the endometrium, where menstruation occurs. After the menstrual period ends, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, endometrial cells begin to grow. On the 5th to 9th day, a thin layer of endometrium covers the entire surface of the uterus, and then gradually thickens, and the number of uterine glands gradually increases.

On the 15th day, the ovary has ovulated, and the endometrium continues to thicken under the stimulation of progesterone, with a thickness of 5-6mm. On the 25th day, if the egg is not fertilized, the estrogen and progesterone levels will drop, the glands will shrink, and the endometrium will gradually become thinner. Finally, the endometrium loses support and peels off, manifesting as menstruation. This drama is performed once a month in the uterus.

Why does menstrual cramps occur?

10% of women in their childbearing period will experience endometrial reflux, which flows along the fallopian tubes to the abdominal cavity, ovaries, and even the rectum, causing endometriosis. Local bleeding occurs every month under hormone control, leading to inflammation and edema of the surrounding tissues, resulting in dysmenorrhea. In addition, if the cervical canal is narrow or the uterus is in an abnormal position, it will affect the discharge of menstrual blood and cause dysmenorrhea. Uterine fibroids and abnormal uterine contractions caused by endocrine disorders can also cause dysmenorrhea.

Why is the cervix an accident-prone area?

The cervix is the connecting passage between the uterus and the vagina, and is also an accident-prone area. The female vagina is connected to the outside world, and there are many opportunities for bacterial infection in life, such as various microorganisms brought by men during sex, bacteria invasion after the cervix is damaged due to miscarriage, or bacteria infected by unhealthy lifestyles. However, these pathogens only stop at the cervix and rarely invade the uterus.

Because the cervical mucosa secretes mucus, a mucus plug is formed in the cervical canal, isolating the uterus from bacteria. According to research, bacteria can be detected in the lower 1/3 of the cervical mucus plug, but no bacteria in the upper 2/3. In this way, the cervical opening becomes an important gateway to resist external bacteria, which means it will be stimulated by more pathogens.

The uterus provides energy to the fetus during pregnancy

During a woman's lifetime, her ovaries will ovulate about 400-500 times. Ovulation usually occurs on the 13th to 16th day of the menstrual cycle, or around the 14th day before the menstrual period. Having sex at this time will increase the chances of pregnancy. On the 15th day, the egg and sperm meet and fertilize in the fallopian tube. Soon, the endometrium is notified and the original plan is stopped immediately. It continues to thicken at the existing 5mm thickness to accommodate the implantation of the fertilized egg. It takes 3-4 days for the fertilized egg to pass through the fallopian tube and reach the uterus, where it will choose a suitable implantation site and gradually get close to it. Implantation is completed in 11-12 days, and the embryo and the mother become one.

Through the above introduction, we know the secret of the uterus. So in life, everyone must protect the uterus.
