Why is there a stinging pain after urinating

With the increasing pressure of life, many people have various health problems. Some people even experience stinging pain when urinating. However, many people do not care about such problems, thinking that such problems can heal on their own. However, they do not know that they are the precursors of some diseases, thus missing the best time for treatment. So, what's with that stinging pain after urinating?

Dysuria refers to pain in the bladder area or urethra that a patient experiences during or after urination. Traditional Chinese medicine calls it "painful urination" or "painful and astringent urination", and it falls under the category of "stranguria" in traditional Chinese medicine. It is mostly caused by infection that stimulates the bladder and urethral mucosa or deep tissues, causing spasm and nerve reflex of the bladder or urethra, manifested as contracture-like pain in the perineum and suprapubic area, or burning pain or stinging in the urethra during urination. Frequent urination, urgency, hematuria, and pyuria are common in urogenital inflammations such as cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, and tuberculosis. Non-inflammatory urinary pain is mostly caused by bladder stones, foreign bodies in the bladder and urethra, and stimulation from advanced bladder cancer and prostate cancer. Urethritis often causes pain at the beginning of urination; cystitis often causes increased pain at the end of urination; in addition to urinary pain, prostatitis also causes pain in the suprapubic area, lumbosacral area, or vulva; bladder stones or foreign objects often cause interrupted urine flow.
