(4) Although MRI can help determine whether gallbladder cancer is amenable to surgical resection, it is usually not necessary because CT scans show similar information.

(5) If the diagnosis of cancer has been confirmed or is suspected, a chest X-ray should be taken. The discovery of lung tumor nodules indicates that the tumor has metastasized.
