Glossary of terms for primary liver cancer

Primary liver cancer refers to malignant tumors that occur in liver cells or intrahepatic bile duct cells. Early prevention and treatment of liver cancer is of great significance. By relying on serum alpha-fetoprotein test combined with ultrasound imaging to monitor high-risk groups, liver cancer can be diagnosed in the subclinical stage, and the long-term effect of early resection is particularly significant. In addition, active comprehensive treatment has significantly improved the five-year survival rate of liver cancer.

The cause of rhinitis in primary liver cancer is still unclear, and it may be related to hepatitis, cirrhosis, aflatoxin, genetic factors, alcoholism, etc. In addition, the soil and some foods in areas with a high incidence of liver cancer contain high levels of nitrosamines. Feeding rats with concentrated crude nitrosamines extracted from rotten pickles can induce liver cancer.
Primary liver cancer may cause symptoms such as pain in the liver area, upper abdominal distension, decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, hematemesis, bloody stools, weight loss, fatigue, general weakness, lower limb edema, fever, liver enlargement, jaundice, ascites, splenomegaly, etc., and in the late stage, it may become cachexia.
