Will patients with advanced gastric cancer starve to death?

In the late stage of cancer, due to the continuous increase of tumor cells, cancer patients need to constantly absorb nutrients from the cancer patient's body, but due to various reasons, cancer patients take in less nutrients. In other words, the body's nutrients are in short supply, but there is no input of nutrients, resulting in half of the late stage cancer patients starving to death, rather than dying from the cancer itself. Half of the late stage cancer patients in the oncology department starved to death, which shows how important the diet of late stage cancer patients is.

"About half of cancer patients in the oncology department died of starvation." An oncology expert said: "Paying attention to and promoting standardized nutritional support and metabolic conditioning treatment for oncology patients can greatly improve the quality of life of cancer patients and prolong their survival time."
Oncology experts said that when patients with advanced cancer receive surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, their own nutrition and physical condition are a "hurdle" to whether they can be treated or whether the treatment effect is affected. For example, patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer generally experience digestive tract side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and poor appetite. This digestive tract side effect can be divided into four levels. When the patient's reaction reaches level II, the required nutrients are reduced by half, and when it reaches the most serious level IV, the body has no nutritional supplements. If such patients with advanced cancer do not have scientific nutritional support and metabolic conditioning, they will quickly suffer from serious problems such as weight loss and low immunity, and even directly endanger their lives.
