What to do if there are oil stains on clothes

Mothers with babies at home often face piles of their children's clothes with oil stains that need to be washed. This is because children are active. Even when they are eating, they cannot always sit still at the dining table. When running around, they will inevitably accidentally touch the dish or get rubbed with oil stains. So what should you do if there are oil stains on your clothes? What is a gentler yet more effective way to cleanse?

The first method: When clothes are stained with oil, don’t rush to rinse them with clean water. First apply detergent to the oil stains on the clothes, let the detergent stay on the clothes for about 20 minutes, then rub them gently with your hands, and finally, rinse with clean water to completely wash off the oil stains.

The second method: The first step is to use paper towels to absorb the oil stains that can be sucked out or wiped off. Cover the grease stain with a generous amount of baby powder. Use a paper towel or spoon to scrape the talcum powder off your clothing. Be careful not to contaminate other parts of your clothing. Use your thumb to apply a little dishwashing liquid and water to the grease stain. When the dishwashing liquid starts to foam, use an old toothbrush to scrub the greasy area in circular motions. Remember to brush both the inside and outside of your clothes. Wash your clothes with detergent or powder. Follow the directions on the clothing label carefully. After washing, let it air dry naturally. Using hot air from a hair dryer to dry the garment can set any remaining oil stains into the fabric of the garment.

The third method: Apply alcohol or salt solution to the oily area to remove the oil. Or squeeze some toothpaste and apply it on the stain, rub it gently a few times, and then rub it with clean water, and the oil stain can be removed.

The three methods introduced above can clean oil stains on clothes relatively gently without damaging the fabric of the clothes. However, if it is baby's close-fitting clothes or if the mothers are not sure, they can clean the oil stains and then wash the clothes again with baby-specific laundry detergent.
