Patiently explain the safety of treatment and the necessity of surgery to save lives, so that patients can stabilize their minds and cooperate with treatment.

Before renal cancer surgery, understand the pathological changes of the affected kidney and the function of the contralateral kidney. Explain the role of various tubes inserted after surgery and matters that need to be coordinated. In order to improve the patient's physical condition, in the care of renal cancer patients, patients should be encouraged to eat a high-protein, high-calorie, high-vitamin diet to correct anemia and hypoproteinemia.

Kidney cancer patients are cared for by dedicated personnel after surgery, and their vital signs are closely monitored: blood pressure, pulse, and respiration are measured every 15 to 30 minutes and recorded until the patient is fully awake and his condition is stable. Then the measurement is changed to once every 1 to 2 hours until the next morning.

Observe in detail the time, volume and color of the first urination after surgery. If there is no urine or a large amount of blood in the urine within 6 hours after kidney cancer surgery, contact the doctor immediately. Pay attention to the daily urine volume, color and nature, and collect samples for testing if necessary.

After renal cancer surgery, patients should fast for 48 hours and receive intravenous fluids to promote diuresis and maintain water and electrolyte balance. If gas has been discharged, liquid food can be given.

After nephroureterectomy, a urinary catheter must be left in place for 5 to 7 days. Pay attention to whether the wound drainage or chest closed drainage is unobstructed, the drainage volume and nature, and the bleeding of the wound. Prevent the drainage tube from falling off, bleeding or excessive urine leakage, and the dressing should be replaced in time if it gets wet.
