When does false labor begin

False labor can occur at any time during pregnancy, depending on the physical condition of the pregnant woman. Some pregnant women even experience false labor in the early and middle stages of pregnancy. Pregnant women with false labor will not give birth, but will just feel abdominal pain and can clearly feel their uterus contracting, which can cause some discomfort. So when does false labor begin?

False labor occurs in the weeks before delivery when the uterine muscles become more sensitive and irregular uterine contractions occur. It may be short-lived, weak, or confined to the lower part of the uterus. It stops after a few hours and cannot open the cervix, so it does not mean that labor is about to begin. This is called false labor. False labor usually occurs in the second trimester, so this phenomenon is the most common phenomenon for pregnant women. When the uterus contracts and abdominal pain occurs, the lower abdomen will feel hard, which will slowly return to normal after a few hours. This feeling of false labor occurs because pregnant women stand or sit in the same posture for a long time, and they will feel a tight stomach. This characteristic occurs at irregular times and sometimes strongly and sometimes weakly. Before delivery, this "false labor" will become more and more frequent.

What are the differences between false labor and true labor:

False labor occurs for several hours without any obvious pattern. There is no increase in the intensity, duration, or frequency of the contractions. Most of them occur in the front or lower abdomen. They feel more like pressure than pain. If you change your sitting and standing posture, walk more, or take a hot bath or shower, the feeling will not be so intense and uncomfortable.

True uterine contractions are very regular. At the beginning, the pain will last for one or two minutes and then recover for five minutes, but they will become more and more frequent and regular until the cervix opens. When it comes to the late pregnancy, pregnant mothers must be especially careful and pay attention to this regular contractions. If this happens, you must go to the hospital in time to prepare for delivery. Never wait until the baby is about to come out before going to the hospital. By then, it is very likely that production will begin on the road.

False labor is a common phenomenon. Mothers don’t need to panic or be nervous and affect their mood. As long as they pay more attention to their sitting and standing postures, and walk outside more often when they have nothing to do, this symptom can be effectively relieved. Walking more is very beneficial for delivery and also has a great effect on postpartum recovery.
