What causes liver metastasis of colon cancer

What causes liver metastasis of colon cancer

Many people do not pay attention to their diet and gradually develop some bad eating habits. Finally, they find out that they have colon cancer during the physical examination. After the disease, the body becomes extremely weak, and normal work and life are greatly affected. If the colon cancer patient is found in the late stage, it may be life-threatening. So how does colon cancer liver metastasis occur?

Lymphatic metastasis: Generally, it spreads from near to far in the following order, but there are also non-sequential metastases. (1) Colonic lymph nodes: located in the fat sac. (2) Paracolonic lymph nodes: located in the mesentery of the adjacent nodes. (3) Mesenteric vascular lymph nodes: located next to the blood vessels in the middle of the colon mesentery, also called the intermediate lymph node group. (4) Mesenteric lymph nodes: located in the colon mesentery.

Infiltration and implantation: One of the ways that advanced colorectal cancer metastasizes is that the tumor can directly infiltrate surrounding tissues and organs. Cancer cells that fall off in the intestine can implant on mucosa elsewhere, and those that fall off in the abdomen can implant on the peritoneum. The metastatic lesions are nodular or millet-shaped, white or grayish white, and hard. If they spread throughout the abdominal cavity, they can cause cancerous peritonitis and ascites.

I hope that after reading the above, you will remember how colon cancer metastasizes to the liver, and then pay attention to the above aspects after you find yourself with colon cancer, and do your best to prevent cancer cells from metastasizing, so that your life will not be threatened. Also, all colon cancer patients must receive surgical treatment as soon as possible, and delaying it will not do any good to your body.
