Is there a vaccine to prevent lung cancer?

Is there a vaccine to prevent lung cancer? Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with the fastest growing incidence and mortality, and it poses the greatest threat to people's health and life. The clinical manifestations of lung cancer are relatively complex. The presence, severity, and early onset of symptoms and signs depend on the location of the tumor, pathological type, metastasis, complications, and differences in the patient's response and tolerance.

The main causes of lung cancer are: smoking, air pollution, occupational hazards, genetic and psychological factors, etc. These factors lead to the malignant changes in the patient's physical constitution. Therefore, the high-risk groups for lung cancer mainly include long-term smokers, patients with chronic bronchitis, tuberculosis and other lung diseases, those who are exposed to excessive radiation inside and outside the body, those who are exposed to coal smoke or oil smoke for a long time, and miners.

In 2009, the Cuban Center for Molecular Immunology developed what is claimed to be the world's first lung cancer vaccine (depending on the dosage regimen, the price is between 3,000 and 6,000 red pesos, or about 20,000 to 40,000 RMB). Clinical trials have shown that this vaccine can extend the life of patients by an average of 4 to 5 months. It is said that the vaccine slows down or even stops the progression of the patient's disease, ensuring the normal functioning of key organs in various parts of the body, while the tumor does not develop and even shrinks, thus ensuring the patient's quality of life.

In 2013, the institute announced that it had developed a second lung cancer vaccine. Cuba has thus become the only country in the world to have developed two lung cancer vaccines. The first vaccine is currently undergoing clinical trials in Cuba, but it has only been registered in Cuba and Peru, so it is only available in these two countries.

American medical experts said that compared with traditional chemotherapy, Cuba's lung cancer vaccine has fewer side effects. The reason for the small side effects is that Cuba's lung cancer vaccine does not directly attack cancer cells, but controls tumor growth by inhibiting a growth factor necessary for tumor cell growth, so the toxicity of this vaccine is very low.

The famous Hasumi vaccine

The Hasumi vaccine was developed by the famous Japanese tumor immunology expert Hasumi Kiichiro in 1948, and later developed and upgraded by his son Hasumi Kenichiro, with the aim of preventing cancer recurrence. Over the past few decades, there have been many reports on the Japanese Internet and television, and small groups are often organized to give talks and share. It basically survives in the market by word of mouth from patients.

The Hasumi vaccine currently in use officially passed clinical trials in 2005. In Japan, about 15,000 cancer patients receive this treatment each year. For patients with solid tumors other than leukemia, this treatment can be performed after surgery/radiotherapy, but whether it is suitable still needs to be determined by the doctor after reviewing the medical records.

It is understood that the Lianjian vaccine does not kill cancer cells directly, but rather increases the body's immune activity, that is, increases the ability of dendritic cells to process antigens, and then induces the corresponding lymphocyte cells to eliminate and attack cancer cells, thereby preventing cancer recurrence and metastasis.

Generally, cancer is divided into stages I to IV, with a five-year survival rate of about 90% for stage I, 70% to 80% for stage II, 50% for stage III, and 20% for stage IV. It is said that the Lianjian vaccine can increase the five-year survival rate by 20% for each stage based on the original survival rate, reduce the chance of cancer recurrence, and has a good effect in preventing cancer and prolonging life.
