How to master the degree of exercise to prevent bone cancer

How much exercise should be done to prevent bone cancer? Regular brisk walking and jogging may have an important impact on improving the treatment effect of cancer patients, and moderate exercise can also help cancer patients fight the side effects of cancer treatment, such as low blood cell counts, fatigue, malaise, and loss of muscle mass.

The researchers pointed out that if the therapeutic efficiency of radiotherapy can be increased, the patient's prognosis will be improved. Compared with other methods of improving treatment efficiency, intervention through exercise has a better effect. Exercise can improve the function of multiple systems of the body and can continuously change the microenvironment of tumor survival, thereby achieving the purpose of promoting the effect of cancer treatment.

Moderate exercise can enhance the effect of bone tumor treatment

In this study, researchers used a prostate cancer model to try to find ways to enhance the delivery of oxygen to tumors. When tumors are in a state of hypoxia, they are usually invasive, and tumors in a state of hypoxia are easily resistant to traditional cancer treatments such as radiotherapy, so oxygen is a "radiotherapy sensitizer" that can help destroy cancer cells. Researchers have found that enhancing the delivery of oxygen to tumor tissue through exercise is a good method, but the key is to exercise moderately. Too little exercise has no effect, and too much exercise may prevent blood from flowing to tumor tissue and may damage the immune system.

The researchers pointed out that moderate exercise should be based on a person's aerobic metabolic capacity. When an activity can utilize 30% to 60% of aerobic metabolic capacity, it is considered moderate exercise, and brisk walking and jogging are moderate exercises that most people can complete. At the same time, the study also showed that moderate exercise can improve some of the side effects of cancer treatment in cancer patients.

This study sheds light on the effect of exercise on cancer treatment, and suggests that moderate exercise such as walking and jogging can improve the effectiveness of cancer treatment by increasing the delivery of oxygen to tumor tissue and enhancing the radiosensitivity of tumor cells.
