According to experts, cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, and its incidence rate ranks second among female tumors. Every year, there are about 131,500 new cases of cervical cancer in Chinese women, and about 30,000 women die from cervical cancer. Existing vaccines are not effective for the majority of married women, so how can this group of people prevent cervical cancer? As a preventive vaccine, the existing HPV vaccine focuses on protecting uninfected people, but is not very effective for infected people. The American Cancer Society recommends that the routine immunization age for HPV vaccine is 11 to 12 years old, and the minimum age is 9 years old; women aged 13 to 18 can also be vaccinated if they have not been vaccinated or have not completed immunization. Whether 19 to 26 years old need to be vaccinated should be weighed against the risk of HPV infection and possible benefits. Vaccination is not recommended for women over 26 years old. Cervical cancer is caused by infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). As people's understanding of HPV infection factors and their carcinogenic mechanisms becomes clearer and clearer, preventive HPV vaccines have made great progress in recent years. There are currently two types of HPV vaccines on the market, both produced by foreign companies, one is a bivalent vaccine and the other is a quadrivalent vaccine. Studies have shown that there are many types of HPV, and only specific high-risk HPV can cause cervical cancer. The commercially available bivalent vaccine mainly targets two high-risk HPV types, while the quadrivalent vaccine targets two high-risk HPV types and two low-risk HPV types. According to the guidance of experts, the reporter consulted relevant information. The "Basic Practice Guidelines for Comprehensive Prevention and Treatment of Cervical Cancer" issued by the World Health Organization pointed out that all women who have had sexual intercourse are at potential risk of cervical cancer because they may have been infected with HPV. Women who have never undergone cervical lesion screening, women who start sexual intercourse and give birth too early, women who have given birth to more than 5 children, women who have many sexual partners or women who have multiple sexual partners, women who smoke, and women infected with HIV are at higher risk of cervical cancer. The Guidelines point out that cervical cancer can be prevented. Limiting the number of sexual partners, using condoms, delaying the first sexual intercourse and the first childbearing age, and not smoking can all help prevent cervical cancer. When the vaccine becomes available, young women should be vaccinated before they start having sex. Currently, the best way to prevent cervical cancer is to screen for precancerous lesions and treat them before they develop into cervical cancer. It is reported that cervical cancer screening has been included in the major public health projects of medical reform in my country. According to the technical plan issued by the Ministry of Health, regular examinations are conducted on women aged 35 to 59 who have sexual life in order to detect precancerous lesions or early cancers. |
