Is there a cure for brain cancer?

Brain tumors are common diseases in neurosurgery. Compared with tumors in other parts of the body, brain tumors seem to pose a greater threat to life. In fact, this view is not entirely correct. Brain tumor is the abbreviation of intracranial tumors. Brain tumors are not uncommon, with an incidence rate of about one in ten thousand per year. So is there a cure for brain cancer?

Brain tumors are a great threat to life, but most brain tumors can be effectively treated, especially some benign brain tumors, which can be completely cured. Benign brain tumors mainly include meningiomas, neurothecomas, and pituitary tumors; malignant brain tumors mainly include gliomas, germ cell tumors, and metastatic tumors. Benign brain tumors grow slowly and most can be cured.
Intracranial malignant tumors, on the other hand, grow rapidly and are generally difficult to cure. However, this is not always the case. Some benign tumors grow deep and are already very large when they are discovered, so they cannot be completely removed by surgery. However, some malignant tumors grow in unimportant brain tissues, so they can be almost completely removed by surgery, or even cured.
If it is a brain tumor, it can also be effectively treated through surgery! Surgical resection is currently the most common and effective method for treating brain tumors. For benign brain tumors, complete tumor resection can achieve a cure; for malignant brain tumors, surgery can clarify the diagnosis, improve symptoms, reduce tumor burden, and create conditions for other treatments. The principle of surgical treatment is to remove the tumor as much as possible while preserving neurological function.
