What causes baby skin cancer

Skin cancer is a type of malignant tumor that originates from the ectoderm. Squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are the most common and are prone to occur in exposed areas such as the head, face, neck, and back of the hands. They are also seen in the oral mucosa, lips, tongue, and vulva. The incidence of squamous cell carcinoma is the highest, while the incidence of basal cell carcinoma is relatively low. So what causes skin cancer in babies? There are many causes of the disease. Let's briefly talk about them.

Common causes of disease include:
1. Daily exposure to the sun and ultraviolet radiation: There is sufficient evidence to support ultraviolet radiation. The interaction between the body's melanin protection and the immune system function leads to skin cancer. When measuring human skin in sunlight, the parts of the skin that receive the most ultraviolet rays are the head, face, back of the neck, and hands. Squamous cell carcinoma almost all occurs in these parts. The carcinogenic mechanism of ultraviolet rays may be that the photochemical effect changes the structure of cell DNA, while destroying the active antigen structure on the surface of lymphocytes, reducing the body's immune function, and leading to the occurrence of skin cancer with the joint participation of other cancer-promoting factors.
2. Chemical carcinogens: About 100 years after Percivall first described the report of chimney sweeps being prone to scrotal skin cancer, people discovered that workers frequently exposed to arsenic, tar and asphalt are prone to skin cancer. Chemical carcinogens can be divided into two periods, the initiation period and the promotion period. The results induced by the initiation period are closely related to the limit of exposure to specific substances or carcinogens, and their progression is irreversible. Cell changes are related to genetics. The promotion period requires repeated exposure to the contact material and is related to the interval time. If there is no exposure for a long time, it can still be reversed and no cancer will occur. The interval time between the initiation period and the promotion period is very important. There can be two results, the formation or non-formation of skin cancer.
