How long can a patient with liver metastasis of gallbladder cancer live after surgery

Gallbladder cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the biliary system, ranking fifth among digestive tract tumors in my country. Its incidence rate accounts for about 0.75-1.2% of all cancers, and has been increasing in recent years. Gallbladder cancer has the characteristics of high malignancy, easy early metastasis, difficult early detection, and insensitivity to chemotherapy drugs, which is extremely harmful to patients. At present, surgery is a common method for the treatment of gallbladder cancer. How long can a patient live after gallbladder cancer surgery is a concern of every patient. In response to this issue, we invited experts to give a detailed introduction.

1. How long a patient can live after gallbladder cancer surgery generally varies depending on the overall effect of the surgery and physical function. As long as you choose the appropriate surgical method, actively treat the disease, do proper care, and reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications, you can achieve the goal of prolonging survival. A successful operation does not mean that the patient has been cured. Certain postoperative treatment measures should be taken according to the situation to inhibit residual cancer and promote the recovery of the patient's physical function. Even for patients who have undergone relatively complete surgical resection in the early stage, certain postoperative treatment measures should be taken to inhibit hidden cancer cells, prevent recurrence, and speed up the recovery of the patient's physical fitness.

2. How long a patient can live after gallbladder cancer surgery is also closely related to the patient's physical function. Only with good physical function and strong immunity can one resist the development of cancer and tolerate various drug treatments. Therefore, improving immune function and enhancing resistance to tumors are extremely important for gallbladder cancer patients, especially those in the middle and late stages of gallbladder cancer. In terms of diet, patients with middle and late stages of gallbladder cancer should try to eat more food that can enter the esophagus, such as semi-liquid food and full-liquid food, and pay attention to the quality of semi-liquid food and full-liquid food. Do not limit calories. Make sure that the food is nutritious, soft, easy to digest and absorb, and improve the body's immunity and disease resistance.
