What are the early symptoms of lung cancer

Cough is one of the most common symptoms of lung cancer. This cough is characterized by irritation. As the disease progresses, the patient will cough up sputum, and blood will appear in the sputum. This can be said to be one of the typical symptoms of lung cancer. In addition, patients with early and middle stage lung cancer will also have a certain degree of chest tightness and chest pain, but it is not obvious. The following is a detailed introduction to the symptoms of lung cancer:

1. Hemoptysis

Half of lung cancer patients have this symptom. If a male smoker over 40 years old has blood in his sputum, blood streaks or small blood clots, the possibility of lung cancer is quite high, and coughing up blood is one of the early symptoms of lung cancer.

2. Cough

This is the most common early symptom of lung cancer, and most lung cancer patients have this symptom. It can be a mild dry cough or a severe cough, with varying amounts of sputum. However, in lung cancer patients with chronic long-term coughs, if the nature of the cough changes, or the frequency of coughing increases or the cough occurs at night, they should be alert to lung cancer.

3. Chest tightness and shortness of breath

This is also a common early symptom of lung cancer. In addition to the lung cancer tumor blocking the bronchus and causing atelectasis and lung inflammation which can cause chest tightness and shortness of breath, it is generally more obvious in the late stages of lung cancer, especially when a large amount of pleural effusion is present.

4. Chest pain

Forty percent of lung cancer patients may experience pulmonary chest pain, which is generally intermittent and mild chest pain. It manifests as dull pain or drilling pain, and this symptom can last from minutes to hours. This is also one of the early symptoms of lung cancer.

The symptoms of early lung cancer are not obvious and not specific, which is similar to most other malignant tumors. Generally, the symptoms are those of respiratory diseases, which are not easy to identify. Therefore, it is recommended that if elderly people have symptoms of respiratory diseases, do not be careless and go to a regular professional hospital for diagnosis in time.
