Is esophageal cancer contagious through saliva?

Some people believe that esophageal cancer is a cancer that occurs in the esophagus. When eating, people may come into contact with each other's saliva. Is esophageal cancer contagious through saliva? Experts explain that contagion refers to the spread of a disease from one individual to another through some means.

Infection must meet three conditions: infection source, transmission route and susceptible population, all three are indispensable. Clinical data prove that general infectious diseases are infections caused by bacteria and viruses, while esophageal cancer is a cell mutation, so esophageal cancer patients themselves are not the source of infection, so esophageal cancer is not contagious. Experts have conducted such experiments, in which cancer tissues taken from cancer patients were directly implanted in another person, and they could not survive and grow; animal experiments also proved that when cancerous animals and healthy animals were kept together for a long time, no infection was found after repeated observation and examination, which also proved from a certain perspective that esophageal cancer is not contagious. Although it is currently believed that the occurrence of certain cancers is related to certain viruses, it has not yet been confirmed that infection with certain viruses will definitely lead to certain cancers.
Experts say that esophageal cancer patients will not be infected through saliva. The so-called cancer is a general term for malignant tumors originating from epithelial tissue. A tumor is a new organism formed by a gene mutation or abnormal gene expression regulation in a local cell, which leads to its uncontrolled proliferation and differentiation disorder, and manifests as a local mass.
There are internal and external causes of tumors. Internal causes include genetic factors, ethnic factors, autoimmune factors, gender, age and hormone factors. External factors are generally biochemical and biological carcinogens.
Therefore, please rest assured and do not be wary of patients with esophageal cancer.
