Incidence trend of colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer (also known as colon cancer) is a common digestive tract malignant tumor that can occur in any part of the colon. In most provinces and cities in my country, the mortality rate ranks fifth to sixth among all malignant tumors. In recent years, the incidence of colorectal cancer has been on the rise. Its incidence rate increases with age, starting at the age of 40 and reaching a peak at the age of 60 to 75. Because the tumor grows slowly, it takes a long time before it produces symptoms and signs.

As mentioned above, the incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing year by year, and the mortality rate is high. Since the cause of colorectal cancer is unknown, the improvement of survival rate depends on secondary prevention, that is, early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Early diagnosis includes two meanings: one is early detection, and the other is early diagnosis. The clinical manifestations of the disease are that the symptoms of early colorectal cancer are not obvious, and may be asymptomatic or only vaguely uncomfortable, indigestion, occult blood, etc.
As the cancer progresses, symptoms become increasingly obvious, including changes in bowel habits, bloody stools, abdominal pain, abdominal mass, intestinal obstruction, and systemic toxic symptoms such as fever, anemia and weight loss. Tumor infiltration and metastasis may also cause changes in corresponding organs. Colorectal cancer presents different clinical signs and manifestations depending on its primary site.
