Is it necessary to get a shot to prevent uterine cancer?

The cervical cancer vaccine can prevent four types of human papillomavirus (HPV) mutations in the human body. Among these four mutations, two mutations have a 75% chance of causing women to develop cervical cancer, while the other two mutations have a 50% chance of causing other reproductive system diseases.

Experts point out that due to problems such as vaccine durability and cost-effectiveness, the cervical cancer vaccines that have been successfully developed are mainly quadrivalent vaccines for HPV16, 18, 6, and 11, and bivalent vaccines for 16 and 18. There is no vaccine that can resist all HPV infections. In addition, there is no evidence that vaccines can reverse the formation of cervical cancer once cervical tumor lesions occur, and it is not certain whether the vaccine is effective for life, so we should not overemphasize the omnipotence of vaccines and make people blindly optimistic. For women who have already been infected with HPV, the preventive vaccines that have been successfully developed have little effect.

The cervical cancer vaccination has a certain preventive effect. The routine immunization age for HPV vaccine is: 11 to 12 years old, and the minimum is 9 years old. Women aged 13 to 18 who have not been immunized can also be vaccinated. Whether 19 to 26 years old need to be vaccinated is measured according to the risk of HPV infection. Vaccination is not recommended for women over 26 years old. And the effect after vaccination shows that the effect of married women after vaccination is significantly worse than that of younger age groups. Therefore, even with the cervical cancer vaccination, it is impossible for all women to avoid cervical cancer. The population that is suitable can effectively avoid it. It can be seen that it is still necessary to do a good job of prevention in daily life.
