What are the methods of biological treatment for melanoma

Melanoma is a type of malignant tumor with a very high degree of harmfulness. It is also called black tumor. It usually appears on the surface of the skin and can be seen with the naked eye. In the early stages, it mainly appears in the eyes and nasal cavity, and in the later stages it will metastasize to the brain and lungs. The harmfulness is relatively high, so once patients develop melanoma, they need timely treatment.

According to experts, biological immunotherapy is a therapeutic technology that induces mononuclear cells to differentiate into dendritic cells (DC) in vitro, and then uses antigen-stimulated dendritic cells (DC) to induce CIK cells to produce specific tumor killing effects, that is, dendritic cells (DC) and CIK cells are co-cultured to form a killer cell population (DC-CIK). In fact, the human body has some immune cells that have the function of killing tumor cells, but the immune cells in the bodies of tumor patients do not meet the relevant standard requirements and cannot effectively resist the crazy growth of tumor cells.

Therefore, biological immunotherapy technology extracts some immune cells from the patient's body, and then cultivates, induces, activates, and performs a series of operations in vitro to greatly enhance their anti-tumor activity. These anti-tumor cells that originally came from the patient and were activated in vitro are then returned to the patient's body, allowing this specially trained "special forces" to kill tumor cells. Thereby achieving the goal of cancer treatment.

Compared with surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, biological immunotherapy has the following outstanding advantages:

1. Safe and non-toxic with no side effects. Biological immunotherapy uses only monocytes from the patient's own peripheral blood, which are cultured and proliferated in a GMP standard laboratory. The cells with specific killing effects are then returned to the patient's body to kill cancer cells and enhance the body's immunity. Since they are completely autologous cells, there will be no rejection reaction or toxic side effects.

2. Eliminate cancer cells and prevent metastasis and recurrence. Biological immunotherapy can eliminate residual, scattered, or dormant cancer cells in the blood and lymph, thereby preventing recurrence and metastasis to the greatest extent possible.

Experts point out that although biological immunotherapy plays an important role in tumor treatment, it cannot completely replace surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Each treatment method has its own advantages, and in clinical practice, various treatment methods are often effectively combined to treat tumors together. But no matter which combination is used, biological immunotherapy is the most critical. Whether after surgery or after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the tumor cells in the patient's body are not completely eliminated and require the cooperation of biological immunotherapy. Biological immunotherapy can clear residual tumor cells in the body, restore the damage to the body caused by surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and enhance the body's immunity, ultimately achieving the goal of improving the quality of life and prolonging survival.

The above are some treatment measures for melanoma. Generally, the effect of immunotherapy is better, but it cannot replace surgery and chemotherapy, so patients must pay attention. For this type of disease, early detection and early treatment are very important. If the patient does not receive treatment, the chance of death is very high.
