What are the symptoms of liver metastasis after pancreatic cancer surgery

The number of patients with pancreatic cancer liver metastasis has increased significantly in recent years. Combined with clinical data, male patients are far more than premenopausal women, and the incidence rate of postmenopausal women is similar to that of men. The cause of pancreatic cancer liver metastasis is still unclear. Due to the lack of early diagnosis and treatment, the average life expectancy of patients with pancreatic cancer liver metastasis is about 9 months. So what are the symptoms of liver metastasis after pancreatic cancer surgery? Regarding this issue, let's take a closer look.

1. Weight loss: When pancreatic cancer metastasizes to the liver, the patient will show symptoms of weight loss and become significantly thin. The main manifestation is that the patient will become thin within a short period of time after the onset of the disease. The weight loss can reach more than 30 kilograms, accompanied by weakness and fatigue.

2. Jaundice: Unexplained jaundice may also occur, but this type of jaundice does not occur in the pancreatic body or tail, and is more common in pancreatic head cancer. Jaundice is usually persistent and progressive, and most patients may experience itchy skin due to obstructive jaundice, resulting in scratches all over the body.

3. Upper abdominal pain and some discomfort: This pain is mainly manifested as more obvious at night, with some stuffiness. The discomfort is deep, wide, and vague. Patients are not easy to explain clearly, and there is a phenomenon of progressive aggravation. It gradually turns into dull pain, distending pain, and back pain. The abdominal pain of pancreatic head cancer is biased towards the right upper abdomen, and the pain of pancreatic body and tail cancer is biased towards the left upper abdomen. A few people may have pain around the umbilicus. There may be abdominal and back pain in the later stage. The pain is often related to the body position. It is aggravated when lying on your back, and relieved when sitting, bending over, lying on your side, and bending your knees.

4. Fever of varying degrees: In the late stage of pancreatic cancer, patients may experience low fever, high fever, and irregular fever, etc. This is mainly due to the heat source released by the cancer cells themselves or secondary biliary infection.
