Treatment of lymphoma

Treatment for lymphoma may include the following:

(1) Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy has a very limited effect on lymphoma and is only suitable for patients in stage I and II. The dose and range of irradiation depend on the type of cell tissue, and the general dose is 3000 to 5000 cGy.

(2) Combined chemotherapy

It is the main treatment measure for malignant lymphoma. For patients in clinical stages II, III, and IV, the appropriate combined chemotherapy regimen is selected based on the histological type, age of the patient, and whether there are concurrent heart, liver, kidney, lung and other diseases.

For low- and moderately malignant cases, CHOP, COP, and COPP regimens are used in combination with chemotherapy. For highly malignant cases, C-MOPP, BACOP, and COMLA regimens can be used, which are mainly composed of cell cycle non-specific drugs and 1 to 2 cell cycle specific drugs.

(3) Autologous bone marrow transplantation and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation

The appropriate cases need to be selected, and the efficacy can be significantly improved, with some patients' survival period reaching more than 10 years. This is currently an effective measure to prolong the patient's survival period.
