Common symptoms of ovarian cancer

Among gynecological malignancies, ovarian cancer ranks third, but its lethality is not small. Moreover, the ovaries are hidden deep in the pelvic cavity, and there are no obvious symptoms in the early stages of cancer. Often, by the time the disease becomes serious, the best time for treatment has passed. Therefore, middle-aged women aged 40 to 60 should be alert to ovarian cancer if they experience the following symptoms.

1. Gastrointestinal symptoms

If menopausal women feel bloating and loss of appetite as usual but have no gastrointestinal diseases, they should go to the gynecology department for treatment. This is because ovarian tumors can compress and stretch the surrounding ligaments, and combined with ascites stimulation, gastrointestinal symptoms can occur.

2. Waist and abdominal pain

If the tissues adjacent to the ovaries are infiltrated by the cancer or adhesions occur, it can easily cause dull pain in the waist and abdomen.

3. Oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea

Most ovarian cancer patients have little menstrual twinning. As the tumor grows, the cancer cells will destroy the normal ovarian tissue, causing ovarian dysfunction and causing oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea.

4. Edema of vulva and lower limbs

As the ovarian cancer grows, the pelvic veins are compressed, resulting in poor blood flow and obstruction of lymphatic return, causing edema of the vulva and lower limbs.

5. Sex hormone disorder

The pathological types of ovarian cancer are complex and varied. When some tumors secrete too much estrogen, it can cause precocious puberty, menstrual disorders or postmenopausal vaginal bleeding; if it is testicular prostate cancer, it will produce too much androgen and show signs of masculinization.
