What are the causes of lung cancer

Lung cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the lungs. It affects more men than women, with a male-to-female ratio of about 2:1. It affects more people in cities than in rural areas, and most people are over 40 years old. The vast majority of lung cancers originate from the bronchial mucosal epithelium, so it is called bronchial lung cancer. So, what are the causes of lung cancer?

1. Dietary factors. People who like to eat pickled, smoked, grilled, and fried foods for a long time have a higher incidence of lung cancer. Studies have found that N-nitroso compounds in these foods are closely related to the occurrence of lung cancer. Some processed meat products not only reduce the nutritional content of food, but also destroy vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin C, and can produce toxic substances that cause lung cancer.

2. Smoking. The incidence of lung cancer is directly related to smoking, and the increase in the incidence of lung cancer is parallel to the increase in cigarette sales. Cigarettes contain a variety of carcinogens such as benzopyrene. The incidence of lung cancer in smokers is 10 times higher than that of non-smokers, and the incidence is even higher for those who smoke more. Studies have found that men who smoke more than 2 packs of cigarettes a day have a 20.4 times higher risk of lung cancer than normal people.

3. Personality factors. The incidence of lung cancer is often related to human personality factors, such as bad mood, depression, poor psychological adaptability, impatience, type A blood personality (quick action, easy to get excited), long-term mental depression, strong enterprising spirit, etc., which will increase the risk of lung cancer.
