There are many benign lesions of the reproductive and urinary system that are similar to bladder cancer. When making a diagnosis, it is necessary to conduct a detailed examination and identification to avoid misdiagnosis and cause unnecessary trouble to the patient. 1. Cystitis granuloma This disease is more common in women. Patients may also experience frequent urination, urgent urination, and even hematuria. Ultrasound examination shows that the bladder is well filled, irregular in shape, poor in sound transmission, and local bladder wall may have fuzzy echoes. The bladder capacity decreases, and there is a localized bulge inside. Calcification or cystic changes may occur in the bulge, which requires detailed examinations such as cystoscopy. 2. Blood clot in the bladder Blood clots may appear in the bladder due to other benign pelvic lesions or surgery. The density of CT scan is higher than that of bladder cancer, and the shape is irregular. The lesions may change with the patient's body position. This is different from bladder cancer. Generally, the blood clots disappear when the B-ultrasound or CT is repeated after bladder flushing. 3. Inverted papilloma This disease is rare but can be easily confused with bladder cancer. Microscopic observation shows that the tumor protrudes into the cavity, the edges of the mass are smooth, and it is distributed in a long lobed shape. It is vague at first, but as the tumor grows, its lobes become more obvious. 4. Prostate cancer invades the bladder As the tumor of prostate cancer continues to expand, it may protrude into the bladder, and patients may mistakenly believe that the tumor has metastasized to the bladder. Generally, the tumor protrudes into the bottom of the bladder in a cauliflower shape. The bladder wall is chronically stimulated for a long time, which may cause urination difficulties and urination pain, causing the entire bladder wall to thicken. Examination can find no signs of cancer in the bladder. 5. Cervical cancer invades the bladder For female patients with cervical cancer, the cancer may also invade the bladder and cause hematuria, but it usually occurs first with vaginal bleeding, which can be identified through vaginal examination. |
