Evaluation: Chuanwu is pungent, bitter and hot in nature. It has the effects of removing rheumatism, dispelling cold and relieving pain. Its analgesic effect is significant and stronger than that of Fuzi. Yuanhu can not only promote blood circulation and qi, but also be used for pain caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis. When used with Chuanwu, the analgesic effect is more obvious. When used with mugwort leaves, it can dispel the pain caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, and is particularly suitable for the cold-type cervical cancer pain in middle-aged and elderly women.

In recent years, anti-cancer pharmacology research has found that the phage induction test method has confirmed that mugwort has anti-phage effects; drug screening methods have also shown that mugwort is effective in inhibiting cancer cells. This provides strong evidence for the use of this dietary therapy for cervical cancer pain. However, it should be noted that Chuanwu is poisonous. When it is actually used, it is advisable to use processed Chuanwu, which must be decocted for more than 1 hour and it is better to drink it with honey.
