How to judge dual personality

How to judge dual personality

Dual personality is a relatively obvious symptom of schizophrenia, which mainly refers to a person having two relatively unique and independent personalities. These two personalities are divided into main personality and sub-personality. It is a psychopathic reaction. Dual personality is relatively harmful to people, and there are many causes. It can be reflected through certain symptoms. Of course, in order to make a judgment, a psychiatrist is needed.

How to identify dual personality

Dual personality is a personality disorder included in dissociative identity disorder (DID), which refers to dissociative identity disorder involving two identities. Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), has the following diagnostic criteria in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (IV)[2]:

A. There are two or more different identities or personality states (each with its own relatively stable way of observing, relating, and thinking about the surrounding environment and itself). B. At least two of the identities or personalities periodically control the patient's behavior. C. The patient is unable to recall important personal information to an extent that cannot be explained by normal forgetfulness. D. The symptoms are not caused by the direct physiological effects of a substance (such as sudden fainting and confused behavior in alcohol intoxication) or by a general medical disease (such as complex partial epileptic seizures)

Causes

The formation of dual personality is the result of the interaction of multiple factors, including: traumatic life events (especially abuse), the acquisition of defense capabilities during growth, the gradual accumulation of adverse environment, dissociative qualities (including the inability to unify personal memory, perception and identity in consciousness, certain genetic factors), lack of external support, etc. In addition, the hypnotic trait of DID patients is closely related to dissociative diathesis, which is also considered to be one of the risk factors of all dissociative disorders (including DID).
