What will happen in the early stages of nasopharyngeal cancer? Will you be unable to eat?

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that originates from the epithelium covering the nasopharyngeal mucosa. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is also one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, with a high frequency of malignant changes. Therefore, it is helpful to pay more attention to the symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma mainly include the following aspects:

1. Swollen cervical lymph nodes. This is the most common symptom. Patients often accidentally feel a lump on their neck, or find that the two sides of their necks are asymmetrical when looking in the mirror. The lump is often hard, painless, and affects movement. It has the characteristics of early metastasis and high metastasis rate.

2. Shrinking bloody mucus. After inhaling back into the nasal cavity, spitting out bloody mucus from the mouth, especially after getting up in the morning, is one of the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer.

3. Tinnitus or hearing loss. That is, the ears are buzzing, or deafness, and the hearing is worse than before.

4. Headache. It manifests as pain in the occipital or temporal region, often dull pain.

5. Nasal congestion: The tumor blocks the posterior nasal cavity or invades the nasal cavity, resulting in poor nasal ventilation.

6. Facial numbness: This is caused by tumors invading the trigeminal nerve, which can cause decreased sensation, hyperalgesia, or analgesia.

7. Double vision. Things are not clear and there are double images.

8. Tongue deviation. When the tongue is extended, it deviates to one side, which is caused by the hypoglossal nerve that controls it being invaded.

9. Difficulty opening the mouth.

10. Exophthalmos. Protruding eyeballs may be caused by tumors invading the back of the eyeball.
