Symptoms of a bite include: chills, fever, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain. Brown Recluse Spider The Brown Recluse Spider has a violin-shaped pattern on its head. After being bitten by a brown recluse spider, there will be a slight stinging sensation in the wound, followed by redness and severe pain within 8 hours. A small fluid-filled blister will first form at the site of the wound, which will subside and leave a deep, gradually enlarging ulcer.

Symptoms of a brown recluse spider bite can range from a mild fever to a rash to vomiting and depression. In some rare cases, death may result, but the victims are usually children. If you are bitten by a spider, wash the wound immediately with soap and water and apply a cool compress to the wound.

For adults, you can use aspirin or acetaminophen to relieve bite symptoms. Remember not to use aspirin for children. You can use acetaminophen instead. Children under six and adults with severe symptoms should go to the hospital for medical care. If you are bitten by a brown recluse spider or a black widow: 1. If the wound is on your arm or leg, you can tie a mild bandage over the wound to slow down or even stop the spread of the venom. Be sure not to tie the bandage too tightly, as this can restrict blood circulation in your arm or thigh. 2. Apply a cool compress to the wound. You can use a cloth dipped in ice water or put ice cubes inside the cloth. 3. Seek medical care. For those bitten by black widows, the hospital will use antitoxin drugs. For victims bitten by brown recluse spiders, doctors usually treat them with corticosteroids.
