4 common methods for treating lymphoma

Lymphoma is a malignant tumor originating from lymph nodes or lymphatic tissues, and is mainly manifested by painless, progressive lymph node enlargement. Currently, surgical treatment, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, autologous bone marrow transplantation and other methods can be used for treatment.

1. Surgical treatment: For patients with extranodal lesions limited to the body surface, gastrointestinal lymphoma, genitourinary lymphoma, and lymphoma primary in the spleen, surgical resection of the lesion should be performed first, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

2. Radiotherapy: Patients with stage IA and IA Hodgkin's lymphoma can achieve good results by using subtotal lymph node field irradiation alone. Low-grade IA and IA non-Hodgkin's lymphoma should be treated with chemotherapy after radiotherapy, usually about 1 month after radiotherapy.

3. Chemotherapy: Patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma in stage IIIB to V should receive chemotherapy. According to statistics, the complete remission rate of patients using combined chemotherapy can reach 60-80%. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in low- and moderate-grade III and VI stages and highly malignant I to IV stages should all receive chemotherapy, and regional radiotherapy can be performed as appropriate after the tumor is relieved.

4. Autologous bone marrow transplantation: Autologous bone marrow transplantation is suitable for patients under 50 years old. If these patients can tolerate the combined treatment of high-dose radiotherapy and chemotherapy, combined with allogeneic or autologous bone marrow transplantation, they can achieve a longer remission period and disease-free survival period.
